Pocatello Police continue a crusade against man that they arrested for voyeurism

It should be noted that even though “voyeurism” is the crime that the officer said he was investigating multiple times when harassing Sean Johnson in Pocatello on June 12th 2017, when he was merely exercising his first amendment rights, the charge that Sean actually was given was “Misdemeanor I18-705 Arrests & Seizures-Resisting or Obstructing Officers
The police chief came out in a press conference and said multiple times that the officer made a mistake.  However he did not articulate any other crime that the officer was investigating that was an actual crime.

Reference to the press conference with the Chief of Police in Pocatello, Chief Marchand;

This is the original incident that shows the man confused as to why the police are investigating him.  Sean Johnson, the man filming asks the officer several times to articulate a crime that he is investigating, and each time officer Cory Christ says “public voyeurism“.  The officer asks Sean for his identification, and Sean gave him his first and last name, which is all that he would be obligated to give (if the crime that the officer was investigating was even real).  More from 66rabidmonkey (Sean Johnson) on youtube

A Pocatello Lawyer named Brom Rammell spoke on local news KPVI on the actual legal requirements that must be met for an officer to require a citizen to produce identification.
Mr. Rammell comments that the citizen in this case, Sean Johnson was not required in this incident to produce any identification, as no articulated crime had been identified that the police officer was investigation.  Reference; and second Reference;

One piece of advice that I give to people who do first amendment audits, or engage with police at all, is to assert your rights, politely and quietly.

I always hand police this card, that asserts my fourth and fifth amendment rights;

Card to give to police to assert 4th and 5th amendment rights

Card to give to police to assert 4th and 5th amendment rights
